Help getting into honors - trying for next year? Tips for this year?

your list pretty much sums it up. don't let facebook, AIM, etc. from distracting you. i made that mistake my sopre year and my grades suffered. turn off any distractions until you have finished all your work. take advantage of make up tests and also extra credit opportunities if you are borderline bewteen grades. asking do to an extra ignment shows how dedicated you are in cl and shows the teacher that you are willing to do beyond the standards. participating in cl is also the best thing you can do to get noticed. the teacher is more likely to help out a student who actively participates and shares his ideas in cl than a kid who may be smart but never says a word. work hard this semester and at the end nicely ask if you can be put into honors.
