How do I tell my boyfriends stepmom who is a hairdresser that I hate the way she did my hair?

My boyfriends step mom is a hair dresser. She wanted to put highlights in my hair. When i went to her salon I said I wanted subtle blonde highlights that blend into my brown hair and she made them very thick and bronzy, it was quite a mess and I hated the way it came out. She also cut my bangs like an 80's hairstyle. The next day I went to a different hair salon and had my hair dyed back to mostly brown and had my bangs cut differently. She is going to notice, we go to her house every saturday. What do I say when she notices and asks me about it???
